Season 5 (25).png

In this episode, Tarryn sits down with Ndivhudzannyi Mphephu. She is a Yoga Instructor and Student Registered Community Counsellor. Her experience spans across a range of roles including counseling, group work, life orientation class facilitation, research, fundraising, needs assessment, report writing, psychoeducation, community intervention, social impact leadership and yoga teaching in diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic settings. In this episode we explore the topics of Justice, Wellness and Liberation in both a South African and yoga setting. We discuss personal experiences as well as constructive ways tto take action.

"Yoga, Race and Action considers the yogic ethical principle known as ahimsa or non violence. The profoundly troubling ways in which racial oppression is perpetuated in our society and in the yoga community contradicts the principle of ahimsa. Further, if we are not taking action to end racial oppression, we are allowing it to continue and implicitly supporting it.
