About Karen:
“As I breathe in, I feel calm, as I breathe out, I feel peaceful.”
Hi, my name is Karen and I am a Kids yoga teacher at Little Yogi Owls.
"I teach yoga to little humans - and that makes my heart beyond happy!"
I am a Certified Children's Yoga Instructor through Yoga4Kids. I have also done a mindfulness course and Yoga Therapy for children, which will allow me to teach yoga one-on-one to our beautiful children who find themselves on the spectrum. I have also complete course with Peaceful Babes Australia. In completing all of the above I am able to bring the world of yoga to children aged 2-17 years old.
After attending my first yoga class more than 10 years ago I felt first hand just how beneficial yoga was in helping me to deal with the day-to-day stress and to self-regulate through breathing and mindfulness. Over the years yoga has been crucial in helping me maintain a healthy balance between the mental, physical and emotional aspects of myself.
It is through my own ongoing journey with yoga and love for the practice that I found my calling in teaching yoga to children of all ages. I would love to make yoga and mindfulness accessible to as many children and teens as I possibly can, and believes the younger a child is exposed to the tools and benefits of yoga, the better they are equipped to handle the challenges of life.
Currently parents/guardians can book there's little ones to join Karen for a class at either House of Yoga or Prana Wellness Studio.
About Bon:
Bon is a kids' yoga teacher at Kids in Tune.
Bon Reed began her career in Tourism and working in safari lodges in Africa. This led to an opportunity to teach in South America where she discovered her love for holistic education.
She then spent the following 17 years living in Botswana on the edge of the Okavango Delta, where she raised her two children, on a small farm, off the grid and where she enjoyed years of yoga, Tai Chi and dance in Maun. In 2011, she founded Rainbow Earthlings, teaching children's yoga, mindfulness, brain gym and dance and in her final three years in Botswana, while managing Okavango Guiding School, she developed the Honeyguides Nature Course that takes primary school children into the Okavango Delta to learn from the ever-changing natural wonders of the wilderness. In 2018, when her son reached high school age, she relocated to Cape Town and did further courses in Kids Yoga, Kids Zumba, Mindfulness, Curriculum Development for Teachers, and the Emotional Freedom Technique and founded Kids in Tune to give children the opportunity to connect deeply with nature and themselves in a gentle, fun and nurturing environment, through movement, music, mindfulness and imagination.
Currently parents/guardians can book there's little ones to join Bon for a class through Kids in Tune.
