We will also cover the history and philosophy of yoga, traditional postures, and the significance of Sanskrit.

Building on this foundational knowledge, we will explore the subtle body, focusing on energy centers, intuition, intention, meditation, and mindfulness.

You will leave with practical insights on applying everything we cover to create a yoga class rooted in deep understanding and inner knowing. We'll cover sequencing, landing, and integration, from setting up your space to the rhythms and tones that hold the space.

About your Hosts

Carelene De Jager- Lotz

A forever student, with a deep passion for teaching, nurturing, studying the human body, and creating connections with other beautiful humans.

A 950-hour accredited yoga teacher, who will always feel like I need to know more. With 9 years of teaching experience, I've dedicated myself to the practice of yoga in the breathtaking landscapes of the Cape Winelands. I envision myself doing exactly this for another 40years. My journey in yoga has been a profound exploration of the human body and the transformative power of physical movement and a mind-body connection on overall health and well-being.

I like to define yoga as movement meditation and a means to discover how to move through space with strength and ease.

I embrace the philosophy of yoga as a method to improve circulation through the subtle channels of the body. When harmony is created in the body then energy can flow.

I teach yoga asana in a way that encourages you to feel where the body is ready to go and to never force anything on the mat.

Yoga, to me, is more than just exercise; it's a form of medicine. It should be a sanctuary where you create an intimate, healing dialogue with your body. My purpose as a yoga teacher is to simply be a guide on someone else’s journey of self-discovery.

Stefanie Schoeman

For me Yoga is a journey through your body, back to yourself.

With over 500 hours of Yoga trainings, 9 years of teaching in studios and 40 years of life, I feel excited to share what Yoga has meant to me. Yoga showed me how to be in my body more and helped me drift down from a strong head space into a more gentle heart space and eventually into presence.

In my own journey I travelled through Nature Conservation, Religious Studies, Fine Art and Yoga; Vinyasa, Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Kids Yoga and eventually Mindfulness and Meditation, where I finally sat down in my body and learned to listen.

From here the magic started unfolding and I’ve had the privilege to witness incredible shifts in other people’s lives too. I’ve taught Pre/Post Natal and Kids Yoga in a number of Teacher Trainings and it made me curious to go deeper into the Endocrine System & Nervous System and the importance of play in the journey towards wholeness. The deeper I dove into the systems of the body the more excited I got and the more I realized just how miraculous we are.
