Pumula Retreat
About:
Pumula Retreat is a retreat venue and a guest house situated on the beautiful South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, 120km south of Durban in the Umzumbe area.
Pumula Retreat offers a beautiful and unique experience with lush surroundings and breathtaking valley and sea views. Situated 1km from the beach and nestled in the lush jungle of Pumula, their resident neighbours are duiker (rare, small African antelope), bushbuck, and vervet monkeys.
In Isizulu, (the provincial language) Pumula means “place of rest”, and you will experience this feeling as soon as you enter the property. Stroll around the 5 acres of well-wooded spaces and find peace among the trees.
Their beautiful glass yoga studio stands at the bottom of the garden, surrounded by the trees to provide a unique yoga experience among nature.
They offer overnight stays, weekly yoga classes, or longer retreats. Their ethos is surrounded and inspired by nature and they believe in reigniting themselves from within to more positively impact the world and others, existing in harmony with all beings.
ABOUT SCOTT AND LUCIE MILWARD:
After 2 decades of working and travelling overseas, Scott decided to go back to his beloved South Coast of Kwazulu Natal. Scott’s meditation grounds are the ocean, the trees and his guitars
Lucie is a 500hrs certified teacher and completed her trainings in India (Iyengar, Sivananda, Multi-style and Yoga Therapy). Learning and integrating the numerous aspects of yoga into her daily life has had a very positive impact and seeing the benefits on her students have been really fulfilling and satisfying. Lucie has participated in numerous yoga retreats: India, France, Spain, USA and South Africa. These experiences enabled her to gain valuable knowledge and understanding of how retreats are run and what makes one better than the other. Surroundings, facilities, accommodation, food, teachers and management are paramount to a successful retreat.
“We are very excited about this new adventure and look forward to sharing our beautiful space with you.”
