Introduction to Trauma Sensitive Yoga Workshop

  • Linden, Johannesburg (map)

In our in-person workshops, we will learn about the key elements trauma, trauma recovery and how our yoga practice can support us in our healing journey. This will be done via a portion of theory and an experience of the magic of gentle trauma-sensitive yoga. There will be 2 x trauma-sensitive yoga classes, and 2 x theory sessions, as well as a mini training manual. This is a workshop for yoga practitioners of any level. It is both an educational and practically personal course. Beginners in yoga are welcome!

We will be moving gently, carefully and there is no expectation for you to partake in every movement. A healing journey is also choosing what feels most nourishing to you. You are more than welcome to opt out at any stage, and simply observe. Once booked you will receive a personal details form (including liability waiver) that you’ll need to complete to attend.

Cost: R990

  • Light refreshments (tea, coffee, light snacks) are included and will be provided.

  • For security reasons, the venue location will be communicated only to those who have booked.

  • A certificate of completion to display in your studio, on your website and / or in your private practice.

  • The first handful of bookings will qualify for a buy 1, get 1 free offer to bring a friend! Pop us a mail (cands@candiceclark.co.za) to check that this is still available if you’d like to take advantage of this offer.

Testimonials about our in-person and other workshops:

“I would absolutely rate the workshop a 5/5. I loved every aspect of the workshop and meeting like minded people. Cands is a fabulous facilitator that I would certainly recommend any of her workshops.”

“Thank you for such an informative and enjoyable experience. I found the workshop very insightful and inspiring. I will definitely be exploring this further.”

“I would rate it a 5/5. The snacks, movement and information were excellent. I look forward to training with you further.”

“One of the most amazing things I learnt is just how much intention and preparation is needed to facilitate trauma sensitive yoga and the reasoning behind it. Of course also recapping the body’s response to trauma is always fascinating.”

“This helped me see how in my head I was, it made me realise that I have not processed half the trauma I have been through because we’re always told to just carry on. I also have a much better understanding of how trauma has physical effects and not just psychological – my chronic health conditions make a lot of sense now!”
