Why a queer-focused class?

Because even if Yoga is a practice of love, acceptance and compassion, it may not always feel that way for people who identify as Queer. I want to share my passion with my community and offer an explicitly welcoming and supportive environment that doesn't question gender identity or who we love.

About me:

Hi everyone! I am Lilly. I am a Cape Town based Queer Yoga Teacher. I have been practicing yoga for many years and here is what it means to me:

To me yoga is a way to fall in love with your whole self. Your body, your mind, your soul. Freeing yourself from expectations and finding gratitude in who you are today and everyday. Growing strength from the uncomfortable whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally.

Yoga is not only about movements. It can obviously do amazing things for your physical health but it can do just as much (if not more) for your mental health.

Yoga is kindness, love, compassion and support not only towards others but towards yourself as well. It challenges you to learn from the uncomfortable, to approach your difficulties with curiosity instead of frustration. Yoga is letting go and letting in all at the same time.
