An afternoon of getting upside down! Getting upside down can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be! This workshop is designed to teach practitioners the tools to cultivate trust and focus within themselves creating confidence in practicing inversions. Inversions can be the most liberating of experiences. Mastering a safe inversion practice can aid in overcoming many things such as fear, weakness, imbalanced hormones, anxiety, and depression. What’s not to like about that?!
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of practitioners, although some yoga experience is required. No inversion experience required. More basic inversions to advanced variations will be covered. All that is required? Come ready to laugh, play, and maybe overcome some fears in the process!
This workshop will cover the following:
• FLEXIBILITY – Asana practice built to create body awareness, connection, and focus.
• STRENGTH – Drills to fire up the core, shoulders, and arms.
• TECHNIQUE – Learning the anatomy behind the asana and how to safely practice inversions without risk or harm to the body.
• MINDFULNESS – The best and most important part. Inversions require a ton of focus and presence. Inversions can be scary, but they don’t have to be. By challenging ourselves, we learn a little more about ourselves. Creating mindfulness builds a greater understanding of ourselves and what we are truly capable of. The answer? Anything.
About your host: Kat Suda
I am a New York-based yoga teacher with 900+ hours of training and an immense passion for what I do. I began my love affair with yoga in 2006 and haven’t stopped learning and practicing since. By practicing with me, I will help you get to know your body on a more intimate level, and through that process, get to know more inner workings of your mind as well. Because after all… it’s all connected. In my classes, there will be challenges, laughter, some “aha” moments, and a bit of calm in the chaos that tends to be our minds.
Kat wlll be traveling to South Africa with Dylan Werner.
