About your host: Amy Watson

I am fiercely passionate about all things movement. I have been dancing since I could walk; my training as a performer and choreographer has opened up a wide world of somatic practices. However, it is in yoga that I have found the greatest freedom and comfort in movement; learning anew each class how to stay in the moment and accept my body, breath and self. My goal as a teacher and educator is to ask questions, provoke thought, and create spaces where people can be curious, playful and open – that’s where the best learning happens!

I am a 500hr Advanced Yoga teacher, Mat Pilates teacher and sports massage therapist. I qualified as a dance teacher in 2004 through DESA, and am currently an affiliate teacher and examiner for Born2Dance SA, establishing the Amy Watson School of Dance in 2017. I hold an Master of Fine Arts in Choreography from Roehampton University (2011); my choreographic work has been performed across international venues, including at The Roundhouse London, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Cape Town Fringe.
