About Your HostS

Tarryn James

Tarryn James is a qualified Occupational Therapist and 500hour Advanced Yoga Instructor. From a  young age, Tarryn has always loved working with children. After graduating in 2015, she went on to complete her Community Service year at a Regional Hospital where she worked within a variety of fields, including paediatrics. After moving to Cape Town in 2017, she worked as an OT within the Private Practice and School setting. In 2019, Tarryn completed her advanced yoga teacher training and has since shifted her focus towards her work at Yoga South Africa as well as offering online yoga courses.

“In my years of teaching yoga, I am always in awe when I see how the practice of yoga resonates with a child on so many levels. Children’s yoga gives little bodies the space to connect with their bodies and explore who they are in a fun and nurturing space. It is a privilege to be able to present these classes and I always find myself learning as much from the kids as they learn from me!”

Cami Barausse

Cami Barausse got her honours in Genetics and evolutionary biology in 2014. In 2015 she went to India for 3 months to merely deepen her own practice of yoga. Coming back, she started her Masters in biological sciences, but a fire had been lit that she could not ignore. Whilst still pursuing her masters she obtained her Kids yoga Teacher Training and Adult yoga Teacher Training. In 2016 she established Yogi BearsZA, Yoga for kids, which is dedicated to serving the needs of the next generation of yogi's out there working with children aged 3-16 years old. Cami has since dropped her masters and poured her energy into growing Yoga, specifically kids Yoga in South Africa. Her biggest dream is to have yoga apart of the school curriculum in South Africa.

‘Using yoga in a fun, interactive and adventurous way we make this yoga practice accessible to children. School coupled with family dynamics and social pressures makes growing up extremely tough. Our goal is to remind every child that they are equipped with a super power, and that super power is their breath. It gives them a moment to pause and react as opposed to reacting and then pausing. It gives them stillness. This breath which we all have, will help them navigate through life’’
