Wandri Malherbe

About:

Wandri did her first yoga class in 2008 but only committed to a daily yoga practice in 2016 when she became aware of the positive effect it had on her physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. She simply spent the last 5 years enjoying all that yoga had to offer not only on the mat but also in her daily life and finally decided to complete her 200-hour Yoga Alliance International teacher training in 2021.

Wandri has a postgraduate degree in Psychology and has always had a passion for people’s physical health and mental well-being. Being pregnant with her son in 2019 and attending prenatal yoga classes, she learned how valuable the practice of yoga postures, breathwork, relaxation and meditation is on a changing body.

Wandri is trained in Vinyasa and Pre-natal yoga and is currently specializing in prenatal classes in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town. Her prenatal classes focus on a gentle yoga flow, with a balance between stretch and strengthening. She also offers a relaxing restorative class, allowing time for longer restful poses and deep breathing.

Wandri believes that prenatal yoga essentially helps to prepare for childbirth and can enhance the pregnancy experience. She also believes that daily yoga practice will not only improve overall muscle tone, strength and flexibility but also transform attention and awareness, cultivating a deeper understanding of the self.
