Kim Baldry


ABOUT:

Kim has been practicing yoga asana (physical postures) for18 years. Although she had read many books on spirituality and yoga, it was only in her thirties that she really started to understand and appreciate yoga as a philosophy of life, so much more than just the physical practices. At the age of 33, Kim became vegetarian and enrolled in a 200hr yoga teacher training course at Living Yoga. Upon completion of the course, she continued working as a research psychologist and lecturer and began teaching yoga on a part-time basis.

In the same year, she joined the Sivananda School of Yoga where she continue to learn about yoga philosophy and practices. In 2016, Kim completed a meditation and mindfulness course and began meditating daily. Thereafter, she enrolled for a 900-hour advanced teacher training course held at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai.

“I am deeply grateful to The Yoga Institute for the holistic and life changing education I received there. Upon graduating from this course I was inspired to begin teaching yoga full-time.”

Kim’s own teachings are based on yoga philosophy expounded in traditional texts such as The Bhagavad Gita, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Samkyha of Ishvara Krishna. None of the ideas, techniques and practices are her own. She tries to bring about a new perspective and experience of yoga, way beyond any physical practice alone. Kim integrates the values and philosophy of yoga into the physical practice and teach yoga as a way of living that is in greater harmony with our inner and outer environment.
