300 hour Yoga Therapy Diploma Course


Our Yoga Therapy Diploma Course provides a comprehensive foundation for anyone interested in using yoga therapeutically to promote holistic health and well-being. This 9 month course is designed to integrate yogic practices with modern healthcare approaches, teaching participants to apply yoga as a therapeutic intervention for various physical, mental, and emotional health conditions.

As a complete professional program, students are prepared to design and teach therapeutic Yoga for individuals and groups with specific needs or health challenges.

Students develop knowledge and understanding of the philosophy, theory, process, and application of Yoga therapy using the Integrative Yoga Therapy model, based on the Five Koshas. Our graduates work in various settings, such as wellness centers, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, or as private practitioners. Yoga therapists also collaborate with healthcare providers to support comprehensive care plans for patients.

Duration:  Nine Months (1 March– 6 December 2025). Classes will be on Tuesdays from 5:30 till 8:30pm and Saturdays from 10:30am till 1:30pm / and on 4 Sundays in July, August and September from 10:30am till 1:00pm. The weekly classes will end on the 30th August 2025. You will then have three months to complete your case study.
The full course can be completed online or at our therapy centre in Fourways,  Johannesburg.

Investment: SA Residents R24 500 which can be paid off in monthly instalments over the 9-month period (R2720 a month).

International Students (Europe and the USA): USD $1650.00 / EUR € 1350 / GBP £ 1200.00

The SYC Yoga Therapy certification is the recognised and accredited by Yoga Alliance International (http://yogaalliance.in/).

Taryn Elise Herselman (Ma Aakash)
Is the director of Shakti Yoga Therapy Centre and Teaching Academy in Gauteng, an internationally accredited training facility. Ma Aakash is a qualified yoga therapist and internationally trained yoga teacher with over 17 years of teaching experience. She is also the Director of Yoga Alliance International South Africa and AFRICA, appointed by Swami Vidyananda.
