300 hour Women’s Wellbeing Yoga Therapy Training


The Shakti Yoga for Women’s Wellbeing Yoga Therapy Diploma course trains yoga teachers, therapist, doulas and midwives to empower women with therapeutic yoga integrated in their daily lives from menarche to perimenopause and beyond.

Our training will guide you to design classes that offer all women unique ways to traverse the hormonal, physiological and emotional changes they inevitably go through during their life cycles.

Overview

Our women’s wellbeing therapy program is designed for yoga teachers, therapist, doulas, midwives and those in the holistic health and wellness field. Yoga helps women actively enhance their vitality as well as addressing common conditions that the women experience including pre-conception and post partum issues. Wellness, living with ease and joy, and healing are magical but not mysterious: a path of practice, in an inclusive circle of women, opens the way.
Our course is unique as it includes an in depth Pre & Postnatal Yoga component and specialisation in women’s wellness.
Yoga Therapist offer classes in general group or private one on one sessions with a particular focus on their health conditions or stage of pregnancy.
The course runs over a 9 month period with 4 months to complete an in depth case study.

Dates: 6th March – 6 December 2025 (weekly classes will run from March until the end of July)

Classes will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30pm, and on Saturdays from 10:30am till 1:30pm over a 5 month period

Fees: R18 950 (can be paid in monthly instalments during the 9 month period R1690 per month). A deposit of R5000.00 secures your placement on the course. There is a 10% discount for full, upfront payments made before the 25th of February 2025 (R1895.00 off the total).

Pre conception Diet, lifestyle and spiritual practices

Pregnancy

  • Trimester 1, 2 and 3: Anatomical and physiological changes / Complications and issues / Yoga Asanas, Pranayama and Relaxation techniques

  • Labour and Birth

Postnatal 4th Trimester 0-3 months

Infertility Diet, lifestyle and spiritual practices

Health conditions Period pain, endometriosis, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, bladder infections, lower back pain, depression and anxiety.

Trauma informed yoga Miscarriages, abortions, sexual abuse and sexual assault

Ayurveda For pregnancy and women’s health

Additional Modules:

  • Sexual health (self womb massage and yoni care)

  • Chanting / Mantras for pregnancy and women’s wellbeing

  • Mudras for pregnancy and women’s wellbeing

  • Pranayama for pregnancy and women’s wellbeing

  • Meditation and guided visualisation to prepare for labour and birth and women’s wellbeing

  • Relaxation and Yoga Nidra during pregnancy and for pregnancy and women’s wellbeing

  • Cleansing techniques from the Hatha yoga texts

Taryn Elise Herselman (Ma Aakash)
Is the director of Shakti Yoga Therapy Centre and Teaching Academy in Gauteng, an internationally accredited training facility. Ma Aakash is a qualified yoga therapist and internationally trained yoga teacher with over 17 years of teaching experience. She is also the Director of Yoga Alliance International South Africa and AFRICA, appointed by Swami Vidyananda.

Rulene Moolman – Rulene is passionate about Pre-Natal Yoga, where she offers Private and Semi-Private classes.
“My mission is to stay true to the essence of yoga while serving with integrity”
Qualifications:
300 Level hatha certification, 500 Level hatha certification, 300 hours Pre and Post natal certification,
150 Aerial yoga certification, 200 Transformational yoga certification, 150 hours Yin certification, 50 Hours Chakra certification, 300 Hours Yoga Therapy Diploma


Theoni Papoutsis – Theoni qualified as an Aromatherapist in 1995 where she started her love for women’s bodies and essential oils.
She is a woman, mother, teacher, birthkeeper, bodyworker, craniosacral therapy, kahuna bodyworker, NLP master practitioner, ceremonialist and pregnancy and moms and babes yoga teacher.
Through the two decades worth of first-hand experience that she has gained by being involved in the world of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood, she has honed a unique and wide range of expertise that help her to be a compassionate and knowledgeable guide for women during various transitions from wanting to start a family, through pregnancy, birth, motherhood and all the way to menopause.

The last few years she has been empowering and educating women and mothers with doTERRA pure essential oils.
She teaches, supports, inspires and hold space for women to find trust in themselves and their bodies.
