Rest & Renew – An Autumn Retreat

10-12 May | Stanford, Western Cape

An autumn weekend retreat for rest, renewal, yoga and you

In ancient yogic teachings death and rebirth are intertwined – and endings are always welcomed as giving way to new beginnings. The yoga pose Savasana, otherwise known as “corpse pose,” mostly practiced at the end of a session is, in fact, a practice of allowing things to end. It’s an opportunity to release everything that you have moved through in your practice and return to presence, to once again be reborn.

In our modern world of busyness and rushing, it’s never been more important to return to this space of stillness in order to connect with your true nature, and to allow endings to occur naturally in order to make space for fresh energy and opportunities in your life.

The season of autumn is also a call to rest, to let go and find stillness ahead of rebirth. This weekend retreat offers you a nurturing space to tune into your authentic feelings and intuition around what needs to be released in your life, so that new space can be created for joy. You can use this time to gently let go of anything that needs to be put to rest, and in so doing create space for more of the things that bring you peace and fulfillment as you move forward.

Through connection with the heart and inner voice, we rest and renew, find stillness and connect with the inner world – embracing new seasons both without and within.

About your hosts:

Leigh is a 500hr qualified yoga teacher and the proud founder of House of Yoga in Cape Town, which she opened after 13 years in the corporate world. She has practiced yoga for 18 years and has explored various styles of yoga (including Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Scaravelli and Ashtanga) and is privileged to be able to share with others what conscious movement, breath work, meditation and yoga nidra have gifted her: being comfortable and at home in the body and with oneself; to re-access the intelligence centres of the body to balance out overstimulation of the mind and incessant thought; and to take responsibility for one’s overall well being. For Leigh, every time we step onto our mats, we begin a journey – a journey home to ourselves. Yoga is about celebrating the adventure of life, being human, our uniqueness, but also our connection to all things.

Vicky is the founder of The Inner Alchemist – a community for people to restore their self esteem and find flow within their daily lives. She is a certified life coach focused on helping people to rediscover slowing down and self-care, to make more aligned choices for their lives. Vicky will guide you gently to boost and protect your mental health, to move away from burn out culture and to restore balance into your life. After a decade in the demanding world of advertising, Vicky understands the effects that stress and striving can have on mental health. Her philosophies are founded on the principle that all solutions lie within, and through redirecting your awareness back to yourself, you are able to restore well-being into your body, heart and mind.
