3-Night Yoga Wilderness Trail

13-16 September | Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger

GROUND YOURSELF IN A NATURE-DEEP WALKING SAFARI COMBINED WITH THE REPLENISHMENT OF MOVEMENT, MEDITATION AND BREATHWORK.

A wilderness trail is a self-sufficient multi-day walk in the South African bushveld, with (armed) wilderness trails guides. We carry our own packs, set up and take down camp together, and sleep under the stars.

This experience is perfect for anyone who’d like to simplify. We’ll carry what we need and make do with what we have. During it all, we’ll support ourselves and each other by exploring ways to be more present in our bodies.

This yoga wilderness trail is a collaboration between Wild Yoga Africa and Lowveld Trails Co.

How we spend our days (and nights)

There are no demarcated paths or campsites; we traverse as the weather, landscape and its creatures allow. We stay open and curious to what unfolds.

Our focus is nature connection, not a checklist of species to see.

By day, we walk the land with our guides, enjoying their deep bushveld wisdom and tapping into our own. Through movement, meditation, breathwork and the sensory experience of a wild ecosystem, we explore ways to feel more at home in our bodies.

By night, we gather around the fire to chat, reflect or journal, before we head to our sleeping bags.

You can expect:

  • Support as we transition into and out of the wilderness

  • Uncomplicated movement and nature connection practices

  • Full digital detox

  • Silent walks

  • Reflection circles

  • Time for solitude

Good to know:

  • This trail takes place in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, in the heart of the Lowveld region in Limpopo.

  • We gather for 3 nights (4 days) with highly trained guides who are deeply connected to the natural world. Lowveld Trails Co. guides have thousands of trail hours’ experience each.

  • We sleep under the stars (no tents) at a pristine location with guests sharing the responsibility of 'watch duty'.

  • Lowveld Trails Co. has a strong ‘no-trace’ camping ethic.

  • A packing list will be sent to you in advance.

Bushveld-inspired movement

Our yoga practice complements the trail and it is important not to expect studio yoga. We may explore less familiar shapes, as well as somatic movement practices and nervous system integration techniques.

We move responsively, based on our energy levels, on our needs, and on cues from the natural world, like the temperature and terrain.

You are welcome, no matter your yoga experience.
